Kent M. Johnson, 74, of Northfield, passed away on January 31, 2024.
Kent was born on February 24, 1949 in Northfield, MN to parents Marvin and Betty (Hansen) Johnson. He grew up in Nerstrand and graduated from Faribault High School. Kent married Sharlet Transburg in 1968.
He was proud of his work as a flight instructor and manager at Stanton Airport. Riding motorcycles was one of Kent's favorite pastimes. Kent was a kind, welcoming, thoughtful and willing to help anyone. He was handy and could fix anything. Whether you needed a hand or not, Kent would be there. He may have been a perfectionist, and it showed in the work he did. He was known for not doing things half assed, but full assed.
Kent was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be dearly missed.
Kent is survived by wife, Sharlet; children, Rhonda (Steve) Burnap, Sandra (Aaron) Salveson; grandchildren, Sara (Matt Griesbach) Burnap, Madilyn Salveson, Nicholas Salveson; siblings, Layne Johnson of Minneapolis, Joan L. (Terry) Schwake of Kenyon; brother-in-law, Herman (Mary Tulp) Transburg of Northfield; and sister-in-law, Paula Johnson of Faribault. He was preceded in death by his, parents; and brother, Colin Johnson.
A celebration of life was held from 1-4 PM, Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home, with a sharing of memories at 4 PM.
