CALL MEETING TO ORDER

Chair Madsen called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm and the Pledge of Allegiance was recited. Members Present: Duwain Egland, Larry Madsen, Emery Maher, Diane McCorkell and Darla Frandrup Others Present: Bob Flom, Jim Black, Jesse Stertz, Todd Greseth and Brian Haugen

APPROVE MEETING MINUTES

Motion made by Supervisor Emery to approve the minutes as read; Supervisor Duwain seconded. All voted in favor; motion carried.

NEW BUSINESS

Jim Black approached the Board with a request to build a shed on land he is in the process of purchasing from Brian Brekken. The Board is asking Jim to go through the Planning Commission so that there can be a thorough review of the intended use of the building.

Jesse Stertz approached the Board with a building permit request to build a home on his property located in section 26. Supervisor Duwain moved to approve the building permit as submitted; Supervisor Larry seconded. All voted in favor; motion carried.

Brian Haugen approached the Board with a building permit request to build on to a shed on his property located at 34785 10th Ave, Dennison. Supervisor Duwain moved to approve the building permit as submitted; Supervisor Larry seconded. All voted in favor; motion carried.

Todd Greseth, the District 3 County Commissioner shared updates from the County. Housing values have gone up 18-19% providing increases in revenue. The County still has ARPA funds and they trying to use it wisely. Todd would like to see the money go towards radios for police/ambulance. November 2022 there will be an election for the sheriff position.

The 2023 Nerstrand fire contract fee is $6,000 with no increase from 2022. Supervisor Larry moved to approve the contract as submitted; Supervisor Duwain seconded. All voted in favor; motion carried.

The Township owns a one-way plow that is no longer needed. Bob will work on selling this piece of equipment.

The Planning Commission has been working on updating the ordinances and will be presenting these updates in a public hearing scheduled for November 2nd at 7pm. After feedback from the public hearing, the planning commission will present the final proposed updates to the Supervisors for a vote at the November Township meeting. Most of the changes are procedural and putting clear process in place. Proposed updates to the mineral extraction, Conservation Subdivisions and solar ordinances will also be included.
