While it was a busy day at the polls for several townships with contested supervisors’ races, perhaps the most watched outcome was the question on Erin Township voters’ ballots about whether to appoint rather than elect the town’s clerk and treasurer. Voters defeated the question by four votes (24-28).
Forest is the only Rice County township to appoint its treasurer though four townships appoint their clerk.
