Nerstrand City Park and Pavilion

Posted

This last year was one of the busiest years for our Nerstrand community renting and enjoying the city park pavilion.

We are thankful to have this great facility for our residents’ enjoyment, with its bandshell stage, covered eating patio that includes a kitchen area with buffet counters, basketball court area, kids large playground set, movable soccer nets, and beautiful front flower garden along the sidewalk welcoming guests. This flower display is taken care of by the Nerstrand Women’s Club.

This Nerstrand City Park and Pavilion recently needed maintenance and restoration. This was done by towns people volunteering their time and skills to help.

Jerry Kuntz helped with the bandshell front trim work high above the stage. Plus Jerry and Harold Glende moved the pavilion building back to original position after it had shifted. Joshua Chojnacki restored the failing, cracking concrete around the stage perimeter. Parkside General Store Assistant Manager Matt Gamble and his dad Ted Gamble painted the bandshell with the Mayor Todd Evavold. Todd also restored the bandshell steps. Harold Glende and his wife Diane painted the kitchen exterior.

The many women of the Nerstrand Women’s Club labored in the flower garden. This year the Big Woods 4-H club put in the main street and barrel flower displays.

Come discover our city pavilion and park. The City of Nerstrand wishes you were a great summer!
