City Council Meeting Minutes September, 2022

Nerstrand City Council met for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at 7:00p.m. Those in attendance in person were Council Members Monica Gernandt, Dan Pfleger, Jennifer Schwab, and Mayor Todd Evavold.  John Harris, absent. Other people in attendance were Public Works Director, Steve McDowell, City Clerk, Dana Jans, Fire Chief, Joe Johnson, and 1 business owner.

Roll Call

Councilpersons, Gernandt, Pfleger, Schwab, and Mayor Evavold present.

Approval of Agenda

-Motion to accept the agenda by Councilor Schwab, second by Councilor Gernandt, motion passed unanimously. 

Consent Agenda

-Motion to accept all consent items by Councilor Schwab, second by Councilor Gernandt, motion passed unanimously.

New Business

-Approval of donations from Lake Country Community Bank, and three visitors to city hall by Councilor Gernandt, second by Councilor Schwab motion passed unanimously.

-Motion by Councilor Gernandt to approve the bid from Wojhun Painting, second by Councilor Schwab, motion passed unanimously.

-Discussion on tuck pointing of city hall and waxing floors, and Resoluition combing parcels will all be tabled until October.

-Motion by Councilor Schwab to store one fire truck in Dennison, truck will remain owned by the City of Nerstrand, costs will be split between Dennison and Nerstrand, second by Councilor Gernandt, motion passed unanimously.

-Motion by Councilor Gernandt for a Community clean up event scheduled for October 15 with fees, second by Councilor Schwab, motion passed unanimously.

-Three bids received for snow removal for the upcoming winter.  Motion by Councilor Gernandt, second by Councilor Schwab to contract with CSG DirtWorks for 1 year, motion passed unanimously.

-Chief Johnson proposed selling the old brush truck. Motion by Councilor Schwab to advertise the sale of the vehicle with the right to refuse all bids, seconded by Council Gernandt, motion passed unanimously.

Old Business

-Resolution 2022-05, adoption of the 2023 Preliminary Property Tax Levy and 2023 Budget, motion by Councilor Schwab, second by Councilor Pfleger, motion passed unanimously.

Adjourn

Motion by Councilor Gernandt second by Councilor Pfleger to adjourn the meeting, motion passed unanimously.
