Nerstrand City Council Meeting Minutes September 14, 2021

Nerstrand City Council met for their regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, September14, 2021 at 7:00p.m. Those in attendance in person were Council Members Monica Gernandt, Jennifer Schwab, Jennifer Valek , Mayor Todd Evavold. Other people in attendance were Public Works Director Steve McDowell, City Clerk Dana Jans, 5 residents and business owners in person and 0 via ZOOM.

Roll Call

Councilpersons Valek, Gernandt, Schwab and Evavold present.

Approval of Agenda -

Motion to accept the agenda by Councilperson Gernandt, second by Councilperson Schwab, motion passed unanimously.

Consent Agenda -

Motion to accept all consent items by Councilperson Gernandt, second by Councilperson Schwab, motion passed unanimously.

New Business -

Resolution 2021-07, declaring Council vacancy.

Motion by Councilperson Gernandt to adopt Resolution 2021-07 Declaring Council Vacancy, seconded by Councilperson Valek. Motion passed unanimously.

Motion to appoint Councilperson

Dan Pfleger to council by Councilperson Gernandt, seconded by Councilperson Valek, motion passed unanimously.

Resolution 2021-08 Accepting the Coronavirus Local Fiscal Recovery Fund established under the American Rescue Plan Act ARPA. Motion by Councilperson Gernandt to adopt Resolution 2021-08 seconded by Councilperson Schwab. Motion passed unanimously.

Resolution 2021-09 Final Operating Tax Levy motion to adopt by Councilperson Gernandt, seconded by Councilperson Schwab. Motion passed unanimously.

Council consideration of accepting donation from Lake Country Community Bank in the amount of $389.42 for library supplies. Motion by Councilperson Gernandt, seconded by Councilperson Valek passed unanimously.

Public Works -Street work from 3rd to 2nd to fix drainage issue. Culvert fixed at Kielmeyer and 246. Transducer at the lift station went out and had to be replaced. The well was pulled and went fine. Generator is getting pushed to October. Needs to be done by the end of the year. Rick Valek completed the pads for the generator at no cost. Flushing hydrants is coming up but no date has been selected at this point.

City Clerk - Jans requested to attend Clerks Academy October 7 and 8. Motion by Councilperson Schwab for Clerk to attend, seconded by Councilorperson Valek, motion passed unanimously.

Consideration of getting a debit card through Lake Country Community Bank. Motion to start the process by Councilperson Gernandt, seconded by Councilperson Valek. Motion passed unanimously.

Announcements -School is looking for substitute paras. Contact the school if interested.
