Posted

Five young women from across Goodhue County have applied to be candidates in the 2023 Goodhue County Dairy Princess program. The crowning of the new Goodhue County Dairy Princesses will be held at a family banquet on Saturday, April 1. The Dairy Princess competition is sponsored by the American Dairy Association of Goodhue County, which helps promote and educate the public on dairy products and their production.

Princess candidates are as follows:

Natalie Clemenson, daughter or Brian & Tiffany Clemenson of Zumbrota

Emma Eggenberger, daughter of Robert Eggenberger & Erica Cordes of Red Wing

Kelsey Holst, daughter of Shane & Casey Holst of Zumbrota

Caryn Miklas, daughter or Amy Bearbower & Mike Chamberlain

Evelyn Scheffler, daughter of Tony & Maizie Scheffler of Zumbrota

Judged by local and regional judges who are familiar with the dairy industry and dairy promotion, candidates are judged on their communication skills, enthusiasm for dairy promotion, and general knowledge of the dairy industry. Once crowned, the princesses will become good-will ambassadors for Goodhue County’s dairy industry and its farmers. Each princess will also be encouraged to attend the Minnesota May Dairy Promotion and Leadership Event where they will have the opportunity to continue towards competing for the title Minnesota’s Princess Kay of the Milky Way in August.
